MANIFESTO FOR THE DIGNITY
OF KINK IN PUERTO RICO
An anonymous declaration from
the community, for the community
For too long, we have watched
in silence as a group calling themselves Kinki Collective has
sown division, manipulation, and abuse within the kink scene in
Puerto Rico. The time has come to break that silence.
This manifesto arises from an
ethical duty to protect our communities, denounce abuses of
power, and reclaim a kink space free from colonialism,
harassment, and control.
Here is what is happening:
• Consent violations
have been reported at events organized by Kinki Collective, with
no accountability or transparency processes in place.
• Lies and defamation
have been used to publicly discredit community members who were
excluded without just cause or real explanation.
• Systematic harassment
of other event organizers, demanding they cancel their dates
under the pretense that Kinki Collective “owns” certain days of
the week.
• Spreading rumors and
disinformation as a tactic to divert attention from their
harmful behavior and silence legitimate criticism.
• Colonizing attitudes,
by imposing external dynamics onto our local culture, ignoring
community processes, and displacing people who have worked for
years to build safe and ethical spaces.
• Though they won’t say
it out loud, they come from a community rooted in transphobia,
fatphobia, and racism—and it shows.
• Exploitation of
workers, artists, and performers, as they routinely fail to pay
or compensate people for their time and labor, despite
selectively paying a few.
• Add to this the fact
that Kinki has made trans community members feel unwelcome at
their events.
• Consent rules and
event structure are explained in English but not in Spanish,
creating a barrier for many local Puerto Rican attendees.
• There is a lack of
basic hygiene and sanitation at their parties, posing a health
risk to everyone attending.
This behavior is neither
isolated nor recent. While the pressure has become more
aggressive in the last month, the pattern of abuse, control, and
harm has been growing for over a year.
NO MORE.
We refuse to allow any group
to act as the supreme authority of kink in Puerto Rico. No one
“owns” the community. No one should have the power to
intimidate, manipulate, or silence other voices.
Call to action:
• Stop supporting Kinki
Collective.
• Do not attend their
events.
• Do not share their
content.
• Do not contribute to
the silence that perpetuates abuse.
Reclaiming kinky space in
Puerto Rico is an act of radical love. We do this for those who
have been silenced. For those who are afraid to explore out of
hostility or retaliation. For those who are building with
respect, ethics, and enthusiastic consent.
This manifesto is anonymous
for our safety, but our voices are united. We care for each
other. We protect each other. And we will not allow anyone else
to use kink as a tool of colonial power.
Kink is not control.
Kink is not harassment.
Kink is not yours.
OUT WITH KINKI COLLECTIVE!
This is a movement for dignity
and the growth of the kink identity in the island.
